新平家三部作の三作目だが、この回だけ女性が主役で、ものたりなかった。
勧進帳を期待してたから、もっと男らしい芝居を期待したのだ。
のちの新派俳優・菅原謙二はまだ若くて時代劇にはまだ慣れていなかったのだろう。
しっくり来なかった。
