小夜福子が主人公の妻役で出ていたが、はじめ誰だかわからなかった。
実際より老け役をやっていたのだ。
（母親は高峰秀子だろという始末。）
話は感動的だったが、やや脚色しすぎていた。
実は長男は戦死しなかったらしい。
